The Youth Service is a nationwide service which EmployNZ is a part of. We work alongside our local communities, whanau, schools and education providers to provide a wrap around service for young people.

Covering the greater Tauranga and surrounding district areas, Taupo and Turangi, our Youth Coaches help you with planning for your future so you can get where you want to be. 

If you are 16-17 years old and need help with education, training and employment, Youth Service may be able to help you.

If you are 15 years old and are having trouble at school or are not attending school, talk to us.

If you are a parent of a young person aged 15 to 19 who is not in education, employment or training, we can help.

The Youth Service is here to support young parents, and youth who can not live at home, with financial support and support to return to education or employment.

Making the right decisions now about your future can help you get further, faster.

Our Youth Coaches are here to help and are based out of our Tauranga, Mount Maunganui & Taupo offices. They are also out and about in the communities supporting youth wherever you are. 

1. Youth Payment

You may be eligible for the weekly Youth Payment if you are:

• Aged 16 or 17 years old
• You do not have dependent children
• You are in need of financial assistance

2. Young Parent Payment

You may be eligible for the weekly Young Parent Payment if you are:

• Aged 16 to 19 years old
• A parent with a dependent child or children
• You are in need of financial assistance

We are available during normal business hours via phone, email, txt/sms, and in person at our offices in Tauranga and Taupo.
