This course is open to students who are 16 – 19 years in Rotorua. All ages will be welcomed in 2019 and the course will also be offered in Tauranga in 2019

Course Content

Construction & Infrastructure Works is an exciting new course designed to help supercharge your employment prospects. You will under-take work experience with real employers who will see you in action throughout this course.

You will learn the practical skills that will make you an asset to any construction, infrastructure or civil works company. Included is;

  • Workplace Health & Safety

  • Use & Care of Hand Tools

  • Basic Machinery Maintenance

  • Workplace Communication

  • Reporting and Work Records

  • On the Job Work Experience

  • ConstructSafe Certificate

The NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Works will give you a practical understanding of safe work practices, use and care of tools, basic machinery maintenance, health & safety and workplace communication skills.

The course is ideal for anyone starting a career in the construction or infrastructure industry, or who are already working in the industry without a qualification.  You may be new to the industry, just left school or from another industry.

This course is also relevant to anyone considering an apprenticeship programme.
