Course Content

This intermediate level course will prepare you for work in junior positions in a commercial kitchen.

You will learn intermediate cooking essentials as well as how to adhere to health & safety work practices within a commercial kitchen, and how to interact in a professional manner with colleagues, managers and customers. You will learn how to;


  • Prepare and cook a variety of savory dishes in a commercial kitchen
  • Prepare and cook pastries, deserts and cakes
  • Workplace Health & Safety in a commercial environment
  • Learn about food costing calculations
  • Prepare more complex dishes like stocks, sauces and soups.
  • Professional communication.
